Ghana FA part way with Goran Stevanovic

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has decided to parted ways with the coach of its senior national team, Goran Stevanovic.
The GFA and the Serbian agreed to go their separate ways after a meeting on Monday in Accra, with the former claiming the “decision was taken in the best interest of the nation.
“We would like to express our gratitude to the general public for their concerns about the national team and their patience so far,” said GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi.
The position of the Serbian, who took over the reigns of the team in January 2011, had been in doubt after the tournament, where the highly favoured Black Stars finished fourth.
Stevanovic becomes the latest coaching casualty after the Africa Cup of Nations after Amara Traore (Senegal) and Harouna Doula (Niger).
In the interim, Assistant coach, Kwesi Appiah will take over until a substantive coach is named.
